Sawyer Telford is currently a student at Texas A&M University - Corpus Chirsti, where he is pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in Theatre with an Emphasis in Design & Technology and a Concentration in Education. During his time in theatre, Sawyer has earned numerous awards from Broadway Dallas High School Musical Theatre Awards, Marcus Theatre, School of Arts, Media, and Communication at Texas A&M - Corpus Christi, Texas Thespians, and the University Interscholastic League. Following his time in college, Sawyer plans to pursue a career in education where he hopes to leave a lasting impact on not only his students, but on theatrical education as a whole.
Sawyer has worked in lighting for 6 years. Some of his proudest works include his head design of The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane, and his assistant design work of SF The Sweet Science of Bruising. Sawyer has a deep passion for creating art collaboratively through theatre and especially loves what he is able to create through the manipulation of lighting.
Sawyer has proudly trained as a Stage Manager both under his former head director, and through his own self training and research. His proudest stage management credit comes from Anastasia The Musical, a work that not only earned him an Outstanding Stage Management award from Marcus Theatre, but also an Outstanding Stage Management recognition from the Broadway Dallas High School Musical Theatre Awards in 2025.
